With the spread of teleworking, many people have more freedom in where they work and live, and the options for their life plans have expanded. In the midst of this, the trend of moving to rural areas has become popular. Instead of moving to a new place, the term "moving without changing jobs" has been coined, which refers to moving without changing jobs.
The current state of "moving without changing jobs" to Nagano Prefecture
How many people have actually moved to Nagano Prefecture without changing jobs?
When we investigated the percentage of our relocating owners, about 60% of them were able to relocate without changing jobs. Of course, the work situation and environment differs depending on the customer, but the current situation is that more and more people are considering relocating without changing jobs due to the change to a telework-centered lifestyle.
Voices of relocating owners [Mr. N, who moved to Sakuho Town]
I started thinking about moving to a place with a rich natural environment where I could raise my children in a relaxed environment. I was attracted by the unique educational policy of Dainichikata Elementary School in Sakuho Town, and because my work had become almost entirely remote due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I decided to move to Shinshu.
Even after moving, I am still working remotely at my previous company. Although I work remotely, I try to go to the office once a week, so I commute to Tokyo once a week. I checked in advance whether the commute time and transportation costs to Tokyo would be a problem, and did a simulation before deciding to move.
If I could give some advice to people who are thinking about moving, I would say that the promotion of remote work during the COVID-19 pandemic has lowered the barriers to moving.
