A dirt floor salon where you can expand your life
Enrich your life in Shinshu Karuizawa
It is important that the living space is open not only to the inside of the house, but also to the outside, where nature is abundant. "Doma Salon" is a proposal for a comfortable space that skillfully connects the indoors and outdoors. The dining and living room floors have been lowered to be flat with the outdoor terrace, making this a space where you can walk up with your shoes on. It is a special place like never before, with plenty of sunlight outside and a pleasant breeze blowing.

The beauty of natural wood and natural materials
Made of solid wood from Nagano Prefecture
Shinshu is a country of mountains and forests. It is obvious that building a house with wood grown in the local climate makes sense and will make the house last longer. As a housing company with deep roots in the community, we have been dedicated to building houses using materials from Nagano Prefecture since 2000. By forming a group with local sawmills and mountain workers, we have established a joint venture that is unprecedented in the country as an integrated timber production system, making it possible to use 85% local timber in all buildings. We deliver healthy and warm homes using high-quality wood grown in the climate of Shinshu.

Airpass solar construction method
Prevents moisture and freezing, creating a comfortable environment that is cool in summer and warm in winter.
A passive solar house where you can live comfortably in spring, summer, fall and winter while coexisting with nature. A house built using the Airpass solar construction method is an ingenious way to effectively utilize Shinshu's natural energy in your home without relying on excessive heating and cooling equipment. You can change the appearance of your home by opening and closing the ventilation holes, and in winter you can enjoy a sunny space with soft solid wood floors and the warmth of the sun on your bare feet. In the summer, you can escape the humid heat and let in cool air from under the floor, making it as refreshing as under the shade of a tree. Coupled with the effect of painted walls that control humidity, we are proud of the clean air that makes you want to take a deep breath.

The rest of the house is made with 100% domestic materials, using only high-quality domestic materials.

“Real wooden house” in Karuizawa, Shinshu
We don't just use "solid wood." We use high-quality solid wood from Nagano Prefecture that grows robustly in a harsh environment with large temperature differences and is tightly packed with meat. Wood grown in the same climate as the land where the house is built adjusts the humidity unique to that region, creating a more comfortable interior space. This puts less stress on the trees and helps make your house last longer.
"Wow, nice smell of wood."
Forest bathing even at home
Breathing deeply feels like taking a forest bath. Feeling the warmth of the floor heating on the solid wood floor, the feeling of walking barefoot is exceptional. The soft texture, scent, warmth, and beauty of the wood grain of solid wood from Nagano Prefecture. Nothing to do with sick house
Healthy and ethical living
To help your family stay healthy,In addition to solid wood, we use carefully selected materials such as diatomaceous earth, which has functions such as humidity control and deodorization, Japanese paper, and natural paints. TypicallyThe building materials used not only pose a health risk due to the chemical substances they contain, but also place a burden on the global environment during their manufacturing and disposal processes. On that point, natural materials that are born from the cycle of nature and return to the soil after completing their role do not pollute the land, rivers, and sea of Karuizawa.

Kobo Shinshu's house design design code
Promises to help each family achieve a “Shinshu-like lifestyle”

Each house is built by Kobo Shinshu to suit the local environment. There are basic guidelines common to all planning. By incorporating passive design, you can create a home that doesn't rely on air conditioning in the summer and allows you to feel the warmth of the sun in the winter. We also need to find ways to incorporate Shinshu's rich natural environment and landscape, as well as the changing seasons, into our homes. This is the design code for Kobo Shinshu's house.

The Japanese archipelago has a variety of climates depending on its region. You should build a home with a design that perfectly suits the characteristics of each location, such as Niigata where there is a lot of snow, Kagoshima where there are many typhoons, or Tokyo where there are many densely populated areas.
However, in Japan, where nationwide house builders have a high market share, the current situation is that houses with the same design are being built all over the country.
In Shinshu, where the seasons change so richly, there are bound to be houses that suit Shinshu and have designs that can only be found in Shinshu.
Be aware of the topography, climate, and site, and take care to ensure that the boundaries of neighboring properties are not obstructed and ventilation and sunlight are obtained. By carefully arranging flowers and trees around the outside, your home will blend in with its surroundings, allowing you to fully experience the seasons even when you're indoors. They also provide shade in the summer and let sunlight into the room in the winter. In order to enjoy the four seasons of Shinshu comfortably, Kobo Shinshu House has established a design code and proposes houses that suit the site.
