In the Minamihara area of Karuizawa, through the light of the trees,
Open the door to encounter a landscape woven by humans and nature, and you will find a world like a painting. Immerse yourself in the ever-changing scenery and discover the simple joys of everyday life.



<Concept>
When I first visited the site of "House with a View," I felt its beauty, like a utopia. Along with the natural scenery, there is a story of how people have arranged and cherished the environment. By highlighting the unique scenery here and adding the hands of top craftsmen, we aimed to "build a home that is like a one-of-a-kind piece of art." So we invited master bricklayer Toshihiko Takayama and brought together a team of professionals to create "House with a View."
First, we stripped away the framework of the space, and considered how architecture should integrate the environment and the interior. The materials that make up this house have a shadowy quality that matures over time. Genuine materials grown in nature give this house a warmth that will stimulate the five senses of the residents. We also considered a spatial configuration that allows residents to choose how they spend their time and gather by creating a variety of places to stay within the house. Creating various viewpoints for the view allows you to capture the changes in nature and gives rise to a series of rich impressions. We hope that the residents will superimpose their own scenery onto this beautiful piece of land.
